Cicli Pinarello is proud to announce their partnership with the Hagens Berman Axeon Cycling Team for the 2019 season.

Pinarello has been highly impressed by North America's premier UCI continental U23 development team. With this collaboration Cicli Pinarello hopes to empower the future of professional cycling. Cicli Pinarello will supply bikes to the team for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

The Hagens Berman Axeon Cycling Team athletes will race on the DOGMA F10 disk version, unquestionably the frame symbolizing the international successes by Cicli Pinarello in the last two seasons, while for time trials, riders will use the BOLIDE TT.

The opportunity to take such a brand combined with the raw talent from this young team has Fausto Pinarello and Kelowna-based Axel Merckx ecstatic. Over the past 11 years, this team has graduated 31 riders into WorldTour contracts, results that speak for themselves. Putting the world's fastest young riders on the world's fastest bike, the team only expect to see these numbers improve.

Axel Merckx is a world-renowned former Belgian cyclist, who retired to British Columbia, Canada, in 2007. Born in 1972 in Uccle, Belgium, he is the son of one of the strongest cyclist of all time, Eddy Merckx. Axel himself enjoyed a stellar racing career, earning the bronze medal in the Olympic road race in 2004, winning one stage of the Giro d'Italia in 2000, the same year that he was the Belgian national road champion. He began his professional cycling career in 1993 as a member of the Motorola Cycling Team. Most recently, Axel has become synonymous with the success of the Hagens Berman Axeon Cycling Team as the squad's director and, now, owner.

"We have always supported the new generations," says Fausto Pinarello, CEO and son of company founder Giovani Pinarello. "So the proposal made by Axel Merckx was welcomed with great pleasure, as we will always offer our maximum technology and experience to help them achieve their goals."

Team Director Axel Merckx said, "We are very excited to work with Pinarello, one of the most legendary brands in the rich history of cycling. They bring so much to the table, and will allow our team to utilize the very best equipment and technology needed develop the best young riders in the world while continuing to win races."
