The Canadian Cycling Association is holding an Espoir development camp in Virginia, USA from March 24th to April 7th.

A dozen athletes have been chosen, based upon past results, to partake in this two week camp. This camp will serve training and learning purposes as well as an opportunity for 6 athletes to be chosen to participate in four selected races in Europe from April 18th to May 1st.

The camp will be held by Jacques Landry, national development coach, as well as Neil Ross and Neil Stewart . Both Neils' will be able to contribute to the success of this camp through their combined experience in training and European racing.

While the CCA has had to refuse some athletes wanting to attend this training camp, it is to be noted that the camp's popularity has certainly confirmed that there is a definite need for this type activity in the early months of the cycling season.

The following athletes will attend the camp:

Pierre-Olivier Boily
Murray Carter
Ian Condron
Martin Gilbert
Charle Gorman
Cory Jay
Bruno Langlois
François Parisien
Dominique Rollin
Marc-André Salois
Gregory Sieniewicz
Martin St-Laurent

Pantani Rejects Offroad Career

After all the hoopla over Marco Pantani possibly taking up mountain bike racing (spurred by comments his team manager made), the Italian rider has published a statement saying it was 'a joke', and he has no intention of leaving the road. In other news, Ferrari is said to be in talks with Pantani regarding a possible Formula 1 contract - just kidding...
