The first ever Sea Otter Canada opened on Friday at Blue Mountain resort, 90 minutes north of Toronto. In hot and sunny conditions, nearly 150 riders took part in the first event of the three day festival - the Gravel Ride for 80 and 40 kilometres. Among the attendees was Tour de France yellow jersey wearer Alex Stieda. Later in the day, nearly 60 took part in the Dual Slalom.

Sea Otter is for all ages
On Saturday, the biggest event of the weekend will take place - the Grand Fondo, which is closing in on 400 participants. Sea Otter Canada concludes on Sunday.
