Pezzo Still Faces Disciplinary Action

The Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) has turned down arguments by Paola Pezzo and her legal and scientific advisors regarding her positive result for the steriod Nandrolone. Pezzo‚s team had argued that nandrolone can occur naturally in women, or that the result could have occurred because of something she ate. However, CONI has rejected this appeal, and it now looks like the ball is back in the court of the Italian cycling federation as to what disciplinary action the world champion will face.
