Pezzo Cleared?

Reports are starting to leak out that World Champion Paola Pezzo has been cleared of charges of testing positive for the banned substance Nandrolone (an anabolic steriod). We want to stress that this has NOT been confirmed, but this is what the current situation seems to be: the UCI has made submissions to CONI (the Italian Olympic Committtee) that the levels of steriod found during the urinalysis test are below those that would be considered acceptable for a positive test (this is based on reports from other labs and the UCI anti-doping committee). Based on this evidence, the rumours are that CONI has agreed that Pezzo appears to be innocent of doping (and thus the positive charge will be dropped). We expect to get confirmation of this news sometime tomorrow.

Our New Look

Our target date for switching over to the updated look is February 1st. So far, the reviews have been entirely favourable - with some very constructive feedback from our readers. At that time we will also be putting updated Calendars, a list of Dealers where you can buy the print version (yes, Canadian Cyclist is still primarily a print magazine, with lots of good stuff...), and expanded Touring section (Attention Tour operators!), and a host of new features that you have asked for. If you want to see the new look evolve, check back HERE on a regular basis.
