The MS is Everywhere Bike Tour

Hello fellow riders and canadiancyclist.com

My name is Ted Emes and I love riding my bike. In March 2000 I planned a solo bike trip across Canada, unfortunately on April 27th, 2000 my mother (Mary Emes) passed away due to Multiple Sclerosis. After a 30yr battle with the disease she is finally at peace; I miss her. I cancelled my trip and moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario to be with my father, and over my four month visit I had the wonderful opportunity to work as a bike guide for Steve Bauer Bike Tours Inc. and as a student caseworker for the MS Society in St. Catharines. While working this winter with fellow guide Jon Forsythe, we have created The MS is Everywhere Bike Tour to help support kids dealing with a parent affected by Multiple Sclerosis. Our goal is to visit every MS Society Chapter in Canada over the next few years. This summer we are riding from St. Catharines, Ontario to St. John's, Newfoundland and we would like to meet and ride with anyone who is involved with supporting friends and family affected by MS.

We are a grass routes program but we have recieved some generous sponsorship (Steve Bauer Bike Tours Inc., Pecco's) from the cycling community. We are looking for help from the cycling community, even just to share some K's or a power bar, come ride with us because we would love anyone to join in.

May your roads be dry and free of traffic!

Cheers

Ted Emes
