1:30pm EDT - At the 2001 Canada Cup #1, the racing has just begun. A field of 55 Pro/Elite men will be followed by the Pro/Elite women and then the Junior Expert men.

Bill Hurley, who had been riding well up near the front, had a spectacular wipe out part way through (great crowd entertainment, but Bill lost 15 places).

The Junior men had a group of 4 off the front: Will Routley, Julien Fillion, Martin Lazarski and Adam Coates..

2:45pm - The men are 1/4 of the way through lap 3. As they came out of the woods, Seamus McGrath had started to open up a gap. Chasing hard were Matt Toulouse, Andreas Hestler, Chad Miles, and Julian Hine. At 3 minutes are Ricky Federau and Jean Francois Laroche. Then another 30 seconds and its Carter Hovey.

Chrissy Redden has opened her gap on Trish Sinclair and Marie-Helen Premont to 3 minutes. Trish is gapping Marie-Helen on the climbs.
