Test of Metal Trials

Courtesy Robin Coope

The 2001 Canadian Northern Shield Test of Metal trials contest went June 24, and it was definitely the best yet. Sixty nine riders from all over north America showed up to ride what were by all accounts the biggest and best sections yet. The crowd favourite was definitely the water trap; pro and expert riders had to drop onto a log raft floating in a specially dug pond. About a third of the riders got wet. Several hundred spectators turned out, and with cooperative weather, a generally festive atmosphere prevailed.
