Grouse Downhill

We are less than an hour from the start of the downhill. The seeding runs finished a while ago and we are just waiting for the start list before heading out on the hill. The temperature is around 20 degrees, it is overcast and there is no wind. There are already thousands of spectators on the course. The riders are saying that the course is fast but technical. "They really love it" says Volvo-Cannondale manager Charlie Livermore. "It is pretty short (under two minutes), but other than that it is a good course."

Other notes: ran into Roland green for a few minutes. He as sick last week - the reason for missing the Park City Norba - but is feeling good now. He is riding the only Rock Shox Black Box Race Carbon on the planet for the cross-country. This is a new prototype with a one-piece carbon steerer and crown. Photos later.
