The junior women's cross-country is underway now and we will have our first update in about 30 minutes at the halfway mark in the race. The course is almost identical to last week's nationals, at 6.4 kilometres. Our man on the ground - Greg Flaaten - reports that the weather is perfect - hot and sunny with not a cloud in the sky. The temperature is approaching 30 degrees C. The men's start list includes series leader Mat Toulouse (Ford-Devinci), Eric Tourville and Bill Hurley (both Oryx), Andreas Hestler (Rocky Mountain) and Geoff Kabush (Kona). The women's field boasts Trish Sinclair (Ford-Devinci), Marie-Helene Premont (Oryx) and Kiara Bisaro (Trek-Smith).
