Team Relay Begins!

Welcome to the start of our live coverage of the Mountain Bike World Championships in Vail, Colorado. The weather is beautiful - a cool but sunny mountain morning. Each rider of the 4 member national teams will do 1 lap of an 11.5 kilometre circuit. The start-finish is downtown in the Vail Village and then the riders head out onto the trails.

After a moment of silence for the victims of the terrorist attacks, the race is getting underway. Canada's scheduled order for the riders is:

Ryder Hesjedal
Roland Green
Adam Coates
Chrissy Redden

Obviously, the strategy is to go with the fastest riders first and establish a gap.
