Downhill Qualification - Elite Women

1. Anne-Caroline Chausson (Fra)
2. Fionn Griffiths (GBR)
3. Katja Repo (Fin)
4. Marla Streb (USA)
5. Vanessa Quinn (NZL)

16. Barb Haley (Can)
20. Sylvie Allen (Can)

Cassandra Boon and Tera Meade were injured prior to the event and are not attending. Neither are Kim Huard and Lorraine Blancher, for financial reasons. We have also heard that American Missy giove was injured on her seeding run, and finished well back. No word on the extent of her injuries and whether she will compete in the championships.

There is also some consensus that the pros are 'holding back' in the seeding runs because they feel that they do not have enough training time on the course (it was shortened after the change in the World's schedule). The course is considered to be good and tough, with some very challenging technical sections, particularly an off-camber corner near the bottom that most riders are sliding out on.
