Mercredis Caisse Populaire Dieppe Wednesdays (2nd week - 2e semaine)

It was now the turn of the local riders to take the spotlight in this highly technical and tactical track event. Indeed, Pablo Vergara and André Charlebois, both from the greater Moncton area, made their way to the final of the sprint event of the first Caisse populaire Dieppe Wednesdays.

As mentioned last week, these races serve as introduction to the different track events for the Atlantic cyclists who can benefit of the expertise of the coaches of the National Development Cycling Centre during these Wednesdays.

Next week, the cyclists will be introduced to the points race on the Caisse populaire Dieppe Velodrome. This event, one of the most spectacular of track racing, will see the riders race in a pack and sprint for the points available every five laps.

Here are the results of this second week along with the actual Omnium ranking:


C'était au tour de certains coureurs locaux de se montrer dans une épreuve sur piste fort technique et tactique. En effet, Pablo Vergara et André Charlebois, tous deux de la région du Grand Moncton, se sont payé les frais de la finale de l'épreuve de vitesse des premiers mercredis Caisse populaire Dieppe.

Comme nous le soulignions la semaine dernière, ces épreuves servent d'apprentissage au coureurs de l'Atlantique alors que les participants peuvent bénéficier des conseils des entraîneurs du Centre national de développement cyclisme.

La semaine prochaine, les coureur seront initié à l'épreuve de la course aux points sur le Vélodrome Caisse populaire Dieppe. Cette épreuve, fort spectaculaire, verra les coureurs, roulant en peloton, se disputer les points disponibles sur la ligne d'arrivée tous les cinq tours.
