This Club is a renewal of the Central Fraser Valley Cycle Club which had been around since 1976. We needed a new focus and therefore a new name and so the Phoenix Velo Training Group came into being. We are fortunate to have a unique training venue at the Mission Raceway, a drag strip, moto-cross, and race track, where we have a traffic free 1.5 km circuit for race training every Wed. evening from April to Sept.

At our recent AGM, members Bart Nagano, Ricky Federau and Mark Everitt shared the dollar prizes for the seasons total points series. Non members Cynthia Graham and Jim Chromosta accumulated enough points on a drop in basis to win memberships for next season.

For the winter season the schedule is Wed. at the Abbotsford Automall Tim Hortons at 6:30 pm (a peanut shaped 1 km circuit with good lighting and not much traffic) and a Sunday 2 hour ride from the Mission Tim Hortons at 10 am. We are lucky in the Fraser Valley of B.C. to be able to continue riding all winter. Just have fenders and bring the rain gear. Hey! You don't have to shovel it!
