February 17/02 10:51 am - Jeanson Wins Again, Sympatico/Jet Fuel Coffee 2002

Valley of the Sun - Arizona

We have a very brief report that Genevieve Jeanson and her Rona teammate Manon Jutras were in a 3 rider breakaway on the 100 kilometre second stage road race. Jeanson won her second consecutive stage, and remains in the overall lead. We do not know whether Jutras was second or third in the stage, but assume she maintains second place overall. We apologize for the lack of detail, but this event is always very poor at supplying results.

The Sympatico/Jet Fuel Coffee team roster has been finalized for 2002. The team will again be a UCI Division III squad. Please note that the team does not appear in the current UCI listing because "our registration didn't make it from the CCA fax machine to the UCI fax machine. Everything was corrected and we should be listed sometime next week."

Building on the team's success at the Milk Ras in Ireland last year we're expanding our European campaign. Part of the team will be racing in Europe from early April till late May. We'll start our European trip at the Tour of Lac Leman in Switzerland and we'll finish with the Milk Ras again. In between we'll be racing throughout Europe, we're still finalizing two weekends of racing.

After Europe we'll again be returning to the First Union series in the US and the GP de Beauce. We'll be adding the new NYC Championship race to our schedule along with other events. The team will be contesting all of the events in Canada's premiere mid-week series, Mardi Lachine.

Our sponsorship has shifted from Sympatico.ca to Sympatico the internet provider. Of course Jet Fuel Coffee is back for another year of sponsorship.

Shimano Canada has provided the team with a fantastic level of support. The team will be using Shimano components, wheels, shoes and pedals. Argon18 will be supplying the team with frames. Louis Garneau Sports returns for another year as our team's clothing supplier.

Other companies from the cycling industry supplying the team with product include:

Panaracer Tires
Ritchey Design (bars, stems, headsets, seatposts)
Bell Helmets
Finish Line
Selle Italia saddles
DT Swiss spokes
Silca Pumps
