The Spirit of Sport Foundation has announced the list of finalists for the 29th Annual Canadian Sport Awards. The finalists in the Male Athlete of the Year category are World Champion Mountain Biker Roland Green of Victoria, speedskating's Jeremy Wotherspoon, and Jasey-Jay Anderson for snowboarding.

The winners will be announced on March 26, 2002 during the 29th Annual Canadian Sport Awards ceremony. The CSA Gala will take place at the CBC's Canadian Broadcasting Centre in downtown Toronto on March 26, 2002 and will be aired during prime time on CBC Television on Wednesday, March 27, 2002.

February 17th marked the official launch of the Opus Women's Cycling Team into the 2002 Season.

Opus is an official CCA Trade Team and plans to build a substantial women's professional program during the next 2 seasons. This racing project marks the first event for the team.
