Mazur To USA
Mirek Mazur, the former Provincial coach for Ontario (and before that Manitoba) has been chosen for a coaching position with USA Cycling. We knew that he had been discussing the matter with the US federation, but nothing was confirmed. In fact, it still has to clear immigration hurdles before Mazur can take the job. Mirek has been know for the quality of the athletes he has worked with, and for his ability to identify young talent. Among the riders that he has worked with are Clara Hughes, Michael Barry, Brian Walton and Sue Palmer. Mirek‚s position with Ontario was lost due to funding cuts, and represents another blow to the future of Canadian competitive cycling.
