BC School Open Mountain Bike Championships

The BC School Open Mountain Bike Championships is now being run as an open event! This means that any school age mountain biker in the province, from grades 6, right through 12 is now able to enter the BC Championships on his/her own. In the past this event has been restricted to school teams registered with BC School Sports and young athletes had to compete attended by a member of the school staff. This no longer the case and both the participants and the organizers are extremely excited about this progressive change! Shore Events.com head Richard Juryn comments "After the success of last year's races we were looking for a way to offer this excellent event and venue to some of the younger riders who have very little in the way of organized competitions and places to get together and have fun and compete with their peers. We think that this change will be an exciting addition to the race calendar for many of the young riders of BC."

The BC School Open Mountain Biking Championships is conveniently scheduled for the weekend after the Victoria Day long weekend, May 25th, and organizers took special care to make sure that there were no conflicting events on the BC Cup Calendar this year.

Sponsors are back in a BIG way this year with over $12,000 in prizing, making this one of the best events for schwag for mountain bikers of any age!

The event will be run in the same venue as last year, Camp Brick in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve (LSCR) (formerly the Seymour Demonstration Forest.)

All of the event information and registration forms are available on the web at www.shoreevents.com or email info@shoreevents.com. New this year, is the ability to enter on-line using a secure transaction server and there are great discounts for early registration!
