The June edition of the Edmonton Weekly Road Race Series started Tuesday at the Weight Scales road course, east of Edmonton. The 23 C weather brought out more than 40 racers of all abilities to the 40 km road course. All groups raced 4 laps of a challenging 10 km circuit that contained rolling hills, false flats and fast corners (with a country dog thrown in for good measure).

The low winds and fast course made for an exciting day of racing that led up to small group sprints in all categories. The top five in each category were:

A GROUP:
1. Matthew Decore-Dr. Walker
2. Mike Stickland-Pedalhead
3. Zibi Szimanski-Velocity
4. Jere Hu- Synergy
5. Rob Borstmayer-Juventus

B GROUP:
1.Dave Ariano-ERTC
2. Curtis Roper-Velocity
3. Kevin Rokush-ERTC
4. Glen Murphy-Velocity
5. Tyler ?-ERTC

C GROUP:
1.Mark Wood-EMCC
2. Brian Mortensen-EMCC
3. Doug Miller-ERTC
4.Shaun Adamson-United Cycle
5. Nick Insole-Juventus

The next race in the series is a time trial in the community of Villeneauve located west of Edmonton. For every race in this series that a rider competes in, their name will go into a draw for prizes that will be given out on the last race of June. Thank-you for all racers who have been showing up on a regular basis. Your participation and support keeps road racing growing in Alberta and makes these weekly fun races possible. For those who were not there, what are you waiting for?
