Hamilton Cycling Club's Tuesday Evening Criterium June 18, 2002

A very pleasant evening saw 37 riders come out. On lap 24, DUNCAN SALISBURY won the sprint for $5.00 and on lap 12, ROSS MORRIS won the sprint for 3 points. The group stayed together for most of the ride but later the top three broke away finishing thus: ED MAKARCHUK, JAY MACLAREN, DAVE WOOLLEY. Taking fourth and fifth places were PIERS DAVIDGE and DUNCAN GAVIN. Way to go, guys!

Happy Birthday to Madeline Wighardt, daughter of Zoltan & Lynn, who celebrated her first Birthday on June 15th!!

On day four of the 2002 Race Across America, Mike Lau of the Ottawa Bicycle Club, was in 11th position at the Manila, Wyoming (986.6 miles) checkpoint. He arrived 74 hrs and 22 minutes after he left Portland, Oregon on Sunday morning. Weather conditions were good - 29C with a 11km/h northwest tail wind. Mike has now completed 1/3rd of the RAAM route and is about 230 miles behind leader Wolfgang Fasching.
