IMBA's staff, board and extended family around the world are thrilled for Mark and Lora. They are the first IMBA Trail Care Crew to be married while on the tour of duty. Centennial Park 'Cross - Ontario

The Midweek Cycling Club is organizing the Centennial Park cyclo-cross on November 3rd. Over the last six years the club has gained a great reputation for putting on first-class events, including the 2000 National CX Championships, due in no small part, to the efforts of volunteers.

This year, we are inviting New Yorkers to participate in our event and the New York CX Association has kept the weekend clear so that the riders can come up without missing one of their own events. In fact, many of them are intending to ride the Auora cross on
the Saturday.

To make sure that we do the best possible job. I am asking for as many of you as possible to either ride in or help out at the Centennial Park race. We will need some people on Saturday to help set out the circuit and others on race day to help with awards ceremony, pit zone, marshalling and course take down. Please let me know ASAP if you are able to assist. Could you also indicate whether you can accommodate out-of-town rider(s) on the Saturday night

Thanks.

Blast From the Past

Peter McCaffery sent the following message regarding our Tour of Bermuda results:

Hi Guys,

I know you like to highlight the Canadians in your race results. In the Tour of Bermuda, George Neuman (correct spelling), who was 17th. overall and 3rd. in stage 4 is from Calgary. He used to race for Ital Pasta. His dad, also George, owned International Cycling Centre in Calgary in the 1960's and '70's. He raced in Czeckoslovakia and Canada and was a better wheel suck than Don Zuck. He used to import Favorits as a cheap way of getting Campagnolo gruppos and had a vast stock of Centrix brakes (remember them?).

Ed. Note: some of my first Campag stuff was from one of those Favorits...
