The first event in the Manitoba Cup Mountain Bike Race Series was held on Sunday (April 26th) at the Birch Ski site. This will be the location of the Pan Am Games Mountain Bike Course and local riders were keen to test their skills. The race was held under ideal conditions, a warm sunny spring day. The overall winner was Winnipeg's own Neil Grover who rides for Rocky Mountain Bikes most of the summer and used this as a tune up for the Budapest, Hungary World Cup in May.

Brentjens Injured

Specialized mountain bike pro Bart Brentjens has been injured in a car accident, and is expected to be out of racing for at least 4 weeks. He suffered tendon injury and required an operation.
