Win Roland's Trek Contest Winner

We have a winner for the contest to win one of Roland Green's Trek race bikes. It is 21 year old Hugh Schofield of Picton, Ontario. When we informed Hugh by e-mail that he was the winner, we asked for a little bit of info:

Wow! I can't believe this is for real!

I love both road biking and mountain biking. I've been mountain biking since I was about 15 and I've just got involved in the sport of road cycling. I currently ride a two year-old Oryx mountain bike and I just bought a Cannondale road bike.

I live in Picton, Ontario. I just finished my second year of university at the University of Guelph. I'm majoring in Earth Surface Science. This summer I should be in the best shape, since I started riding. I hope to compete in the Ontario University Mountain Bike Cup this coming September and October.

I can't believe I'll have the same bike that Roland Green rides and wins on against the best in the world. I suppose I won't have any excuses not to be fast.

Roland Green is such an amazing athlete. Having won the mountain bike World Championship is amazing. It would be great to see him win a gold medal in the Olympics in Athens. He has also proven he has what it takes for a career on a road bike. Overall, I'd say cyclists don't get the respect they deserve in North America.

I'm just so overwhelmed right now and ultra-motivated to go for a ride.

Hugh Schofield
