The Waterloo Cycling Club, is pleased to announce " FESTIVAL de VELO". "It's been a long time since our club has promoted a cycling related race in Waterloo", said club president Curtis Gloade.

Sunday, July 20th marks the start of something big for the community of Waterloo. .

The location of the Race Event will be at the new Research In Motion Park in Waterloo. The counter-clockwise circuit is fast & smooth with a length of 3.7 kms, "It features racing on city streets & rolling through the local countryside, a very entertaining course with 5 corners", said Gloade

This Racer-Friendly event will attract racers from Ontario, Quebec, Michigan & the Northeastern U.S.

One of the best parts of the Raceday is that the Riders will feel like it is a Show, with each Pre-entry receiving a "Goody Bag" with merchandise & certificates inside. Once the riders are on the line to start their race, a draw will be held which will include Merchandise Prizes. in addition there will be prizes & medals for each Category.

As we get closer to the event, race distances, categories, start times will be announced. minimum distances for each category will be 70-80km with Senior 1-2 (Pro) racing approx. 100km.

A demonstration of Antique bikes, Kids' bicycle rodeo, Music, Display/Sales area for bike stores & Manufacturers, too name a few of the events planned to keep racers & spectators entertained throughout the day.

Register now for the BC Lung Association's 19th annual Bicycle Trek for Life & Breath on September 6 and 7, 2003. Experience the most breathtaking ride of your life in the beautiful Fraser Valley and join hundreds of other cycling enthusiasts in adventure, fitness, and fun. The weekend is all about fresh air and new friends, in support of the one in five British Columbians with lung disease - cyclists raise money for the BC Lung Association and collect some great incentive prizes for their efforts.
