Hamilton 2003 Cycling Show Debuts On Cable 14 Thursday Night Courtesy Hamilton 2003 Organization

The Hamilton 2003 Road World Championships Organizing Committee is pleased to announce a partnership with Cable 14 that will feature a monthly television show to be aired on the first Thursday of every month. The show debuts this Thursday, June 5 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Entitled "The Race is On: Hamilton 2003", the intent of the show is to communicate information to the community on the Tim Hortons Road National Championships and the Road World Championships, pertaining to race schedules, road information, municipal services, festival events and much more! Viewers will have the opportunity to call the panel with their questions on the Nationals and the Worlds.

"The Race is On: Hamilton 2003" will be hosted by Todd Crocker and on the June 5th show, the panel is composed of Hamilton 2003 staff members, Neil Lumsden (General Manager and COO), Dana Cunningham (Director of Operations) and Michele Walter (Community Relations Manager). The second program in this series "The Race is On: Hamilton 2003" will air on Thursday, July 3 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Cable 14 is Hamilton's community access television channel providing information and spotlighting local events to 160,000 homes in the Hamilton area to subscribers of Cogeco Cable (Hamilton only), Mountain Cablevision and Source Cable and Wireless. Cable 14's programming includes Hamilton City Council, The Opinionators, South 905, Hamilton Bulldogs hockey and a variety of other community programs and sporting events.

The Road World Cycling Championships will be staged in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada from October 6 to 12, 2003. Over 800 athletes from over 50 different countries will compete in ten different races. There are two disciplines - the individual time trial and the road race with five different classifications, elite men and women, junior men and women, as well as Under 23 men. It will be only the sixth time the Road World Championships have been held outside Europe and the second time in Canada, the first occasion was 1974 in Montreal. Preceding the Road World Championships will be the Tim Hortons Road National Championships from June 27 to 29, 2003. For more information, visit the official website, www.hamilton2003.com.
