Pan Am Games Team Announced

The Canadian Cycling Association is pleased to announce the seven-member team that will represent Canada at the Pan Am Games in Santo Domingo, DOM, from August 1-17, 2003.

Leading the team will be Clara Hughes, a double medallist in cycling at the 1996 Summer Olympics and a medallist in speed skating at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Clara will have her sights set on Road Time Trial and the Individual Pursuit. This will be the third Pan Am Games for Clara. In 1995, she won Silver in the Individual Road Race and a bronze in the Individual Time Trial. In 1999, in her hometown of Winnipeg, MB, she finished 4th in the Individual Time Trial and 7th in the Individual Road Race.

National Team Head Coach, Eric Van den Eynde will lead the squad to Santo Domingo. The final roster for Canada, as well as the key events they will participate in, is as follows:
