Randonneurs Ride of Champions

This year, with the help of the Children‚s Aid Society staff, the Randonneurs fundraising ride plans to rise to new heights.

With the full support of CAS staff and volunteers, we have planned out a series of routes, with light support services, that will offer something for everyone in the way of fun and challenging rides.

On July 12th, take your pick of a 200km, 100km or 25km route to ride in support of the Society‚s Redwood Centre in Toronto. This 30-bed emergency shelter for abused women with children offers a safe haven from abusive situations.

Registration will open at 7:00am, (200 km start at 8:00am, all other routes start 10:00am) at the 'headquarters' in the Erin Mills Shopping Centre parking lot. With the support of Erin Mills, and other corporate/retail sponsors, all riders will have opportunities for great rewards. Ride an official Randonneurs brevet yourself or bring along family and friends for a ride on one of the shorter routes. All routes run through the scenic countryside west of Toronto towards Milton and Campbellville.

Look for the information brochure and pledge form in Toronto-area bike stores. If you decide not to ride, we will gratefully accept volunteers to help with registration, bicycle safety checks, and on-route support. Call the Children‚s Aid Foundation hotline for more info or a registration/pledge form (ph: 416 923-0924 or fax: 416 923-6151).
