BJD BACK for 2004

We will be catching air at BDJ in 2004.

We went to City Council this past Tuesday and have been approved for one more season - as well as funding for track repair. During the 2004 the executive will be working closely with the City of Burlington investigating our options for the 2005 season and beyond.

We are still looking for business corporate, and private sponsorship as well as volunteers for the 2004 season.

As we are a non-profit, community for community, grassroots facility we rely completely on volunteers and donations. The city has agreed to fund the revitalization of the track (yes we are putting down new clay - woo hoo no more rough rides!!)

There will be tons and tons of work to do in the spring - we will need help and more help. If you have ever thought about volunteering this is when we will need the help - we would love to hear from you.

Any and all work done at the track will count for your school required volunteer hours - keep that in mind!!

On behalf of the executive of the BDJ I want to thank each and everyone for their continued support and words of encouragement during the past few months it was and still is greatly appreciated.

We have done this for you - our riders - and we are happy to be announcing this great news.

I want to personally thank Terry for her countless hours putting our presentation together for the councillors of the City of Burlington to review and ultimately approve our funding request. THANK YOU TERRY!

A special thank you goes to our own Ward 5 Councillor Mike Wallace, without his continued support I don't think we would be a reality - THANK YOU MIKE!

Another special thank you must go to Jennifer our contact at the city of Burlington who put the proposal together which the councillors approved - THANK YOU JENNIFER!

Keep the tech talks coming - we love to hear from you!! If there is anything you want done / changed at the track please let us know - in the next few months we will be planning the course of action for all the great changes that lay ahead for this spring - we do want your input.

Until then...keep thinking air at BDJ!! and pass it on......
