Women in Coaching Subsidies now available through sportalliance

In an effort to encourage female coaches to continue their coach education in the National Coaching Certification Program, the sportalliance, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation have made subsidy dollars available to those female coaches registering for and completing Level 2 and Level 3 Theory courses, before April 2004.

Subsidy amounts available are:$60.00 for Level 2 Theory and $100.00 for Level 3 Theory.

The application process is as follows:

1. The coach must register for one of a (specified) list of Level 2 or 3 courses.

2. Once the coach has completed the course, submit the subsidy request form along with the appropriate receipt to the sportalliance prior to April 10, 2004.

OCA Licence Renewals in the mail

lLcence renewals for OCA members went into the mail on Friday February the 13th.

The following message is also on the OCA site:

There has been no shortage of bad luck at the OCA today. Two printer breakdowns, toner depletion problems, and failed courier deliveries have all contributed to a wonderful Friday the 13th.

Despite the set backs, Jeremey Ludwig, the OCA's Development Coordinator has stated "It just doesn't matter...I am going to stay until midnight if I have to. These licence renewals will be out to everyone by the end of the day."

Along with the Licence renewals, the first mailing of the year will include the AGM notice and a brief explanation as to the insurance price increases that have been felt across the country.

Should you fail to receive your renewal by February 24th, please call the OCA office and we will send you another package. We will also be at the Toronto Bike Show to process licences and renewals. (Sugoi socks to all members at the Bike Show who renew prior to or on the weekend of the show).

Can-Bike meeting Notice

There will be a meeting for all interested Can-Bike people on Saturday March the 6th, from 1-3pm, at the National Trade Centre in Toronto. The Bike show will be taking place this same weekend, although you do not have to enter the Bike Show to attend the Can-Bike meeting.
