Enfin une étape au goût de Jean-François Laroche

Après trois étapes difficiles au Tour de l’Île de Majorque, le Québécois Jean-François Laroche a enfin connu une sortie à son goût. Il a profité de la quatrième des cinq étapes de cette course de catégorie élite 1 pour percer le top 10.

Laroche a pris le neuvième rang de l’étape de 144 kilomètres, une boucle au départ de Santa Margarita. Il termine dans le même temps que le vainqueur hollandais Martin Maaskant. « Depuis deux semaines et demie, je ne sais pourquoi, mais je me sens super fatigué. Je n’ai pas de jambes depuis le début de ce tour », a raconté le Bromontois. « Aujourd’hui (samedi), c’est à n’y rien comprendre, mes jambes sont revenues. Je ne m’en plains pas », a dit le coureur de la formation US Montauban.

Au classement général, le tour est mené par l’Espagnole Enrique Salgueiro (Beppi-Ovarense). Laroche se retrouve au 73e rang à plus de 28 minutes du meneur.

La cinquième étape de 93 km sera marquée par l’ascension, à quatre reprises, d’un petit col qui risque de briser le peloton de dire Laroche.
