UCI Announces Modification of MTB Regulations

Further to the last proposals of the Mountain Bike Commission, the UCI Management Committee has approved the following rules modifications:

1) Removal of the requirement to have a minimum of 1 UCI point to enter the World Cup.

2) Race numbers will be allocated for the whole year.

3) Second chance given to Elites who will qualify automatically in case of fall or of an equipment problem. (Note: we assume that this means for Downhill and 4X, however, the UCI has provided no further clarification)

Suite aux dernières propositions de la Commission Mountain Bike, le Comité Directeur de l'UCI approuve les modifications suivantes :

1) Suppression de la nécessité d'avoir au minimum 1 point UCI pour participer à la Coupe du Monde

2) Attribution de numéros de dossards à l'année

3) Repêchage des Elites lors des épreuves de Coupe du Monde

Myles Rockwell Arrested for Pot Operation

The Durango Herald is reporting that Myles Rockwell, the 2000 Downhill World Champion, was arrested Tuesday for operating a sophisticated marijuana grow house. Rockwell was arrested after police seized what they say were 52 high quality pot plants. The police estimated the street value of the plants at over $200,000 US. Rockwell was released on bail.
