The CCA is happy to announce the names of the athletes who will represent Canada in the upcoming BMX World Championship and World Challenge events, to be held in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands, from July 23 to 25.
For the first time, the CCA is able to offer funding for some of our competitors. Reigning World Junior Champion Samantha Cools of Airdrie, Alberta, was automatically picked for a funded spot. Two junior men also qualified for funding through selection events in Ridge Meadows, B.C., and Kingston, Ont. They are Scott Erwood of Ridge Meadows and Jonathan Goulet of St-Louis-de-France, Que.
In total, 26 athletes will wear the Canadian colours in Valkenswaard, ranging in age from 9 to 46. The delegation will be managed by Kris Westwood of the CCA, and the team coach will be John Cools of Airdrie BMX.

L’Équipe canadienne des Championnats du monde BMX 2004
L’ACC est heureuse d’annoncer les noms des athlètes qui représenteront le Canada aux Championnats du monde et au Challenge mondiale de BMX, qui auront lieu du 23 au 25 juillet à Valkenswaard, aux Pays Bas.
Pour la première fois, l’ACC peut offrir un soutien financier à nos athlètes. Trois athlètes recevront ce soutien dont la championne du monde en titre chez les juniors, Samantha Cools de Airdrie, Alberta, qui s’est qualifiée automatiquement; et deux hommes juniors se sont qualifiés pour ce soutien lors des épreuves de sélection à Ridge Meadows, C.-B., et Kingston, Ontario. Il s’agit de Scott Erwood de Ridge Meadows et Jonathan Goulet de St-Louis-de-France, Québec.
En somme, 26 athlètes porteront les couleurs canadiennes à Valkenswaard. Le plus jeune est âgé de 9 ans; le plus vieux, de 46 ans. La délégation sera menée par Kris Westwood, l’entraîneur national de développement de l’ACC, et l’entraîneur officiel de l’équipe sera John Colls de Airdrie BMX.
