Olympic Send-Off Party in Hamilton

Nada Pasko sent this invite to a send-off party for Sue Palmer-Komar.

You are invited to a backyard fundraiser Open House Party for our hometown girl, cyclist Sue Palmer-Komar, who will be leaving for the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics, early next week. (This is a casual, family event - children of all ages are welcome). Here's the party info:

Date: this Saturday, August 7th, 2004
Time: 6pm until 8pm
Address: 114 Ewen Road (@ corner of Whitney, south of Main W), Hamilton

Sue will be putting Hamilton back on the map! People from around the world watched her compete here last year, as Hamilton hosted both the Nationals and the Road Cycling World Championships. Once again, thanks to Sue, the cycling spotlight will turn towards Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, as the world watches Sue Palmer-Komar compete in both the Road Race and the Individual Time Trial in Athens, Greece. So, let's show our appreciation and raise some funds for our outstanding, high-performance, hometown athlete!

She'll be attending the party with her husband, Chris, and their 4-yr-old daughter, Trinity. I hope you can come and join us in wishing her well at the Olympics. It's a rare chance to chat with Sue, snack on some cake and coffee, and share conversation with other local cycling enthusiasts.

As a show of financial support for Sue, I am asking guests to contribute $20 (per family - cheque or cash) towards Sue's Olympic expenses. You'll be able to drop the donation in a box provided at the party. If you cannot attend but wish to make a contribution, please send it to Sue Palmer-Komar, c/o Canadian Cyclist, 7 Barker St, Paris, ON N3L 2H4. (Please make cheques payable to Sue Palmer-Komar).

Please RSVP only if you will attend, , indicating how many attending (preferably by midnight, Friday) via email to nadapasko@sympatico.ca. Questions? please contact fundraiser/party organizer, Nada Pasko via email (id given above) or phone 905-528-2382. Hope to see you there!

Ontario Cup #5 August 7-8

For immediate release, July 26, 2004 ˆ The fifth stop on the Bonham & Co. Ontario Cup Mountain Bike Race Series starts Saturday, August 7 in beautiful
cottage country at Buckwallow Cycling Center in Bracebridge.
