Whistler Classic report

Our reporter on the spot, Lorraine Hebert, has just sent in her first update on the Whistler International Classic. Tonight is the Dirt Crit, held in Whistler Village. The women just finished, with Melanie McQuaid (Rocky Mountain) taking the win in the 15 minute plus 3 lap race. McQuaid led from start to finish, on her own. Sally Carmichael (Grinders/Focus) was second and Wendy Kinnear (The Glacier Shop) third. McQuaid commented: „although (our race) was short on numbers, I wanted to put on great show for the crowd‰. Lorraine reports that she did, indeed, do this. Next up are the Expert men, and then the Pro-Elite men. We will have coverage throughout the weekend on both the Classic and the National Track Championships (and, of course, the Tour...)
