Pierre Hutsebaut Extends Medical Leave at CCA

Canadian Cyclist has learned that Director-General Pierre Hutsebaut has extended his sick leave at the Canadian Cycling Association for a third time. As reported previously (see Daily News November 18), Mr Hutsebaut was on sick leave extending back to April. His leave was due to end November 15th, but the CCA received a letter (with medical documentation), extending the leave until February, 2005.

Brett Stewart, Acting Director-General, provided the following statement from the CCA:

"I can confirm that medical leave for Pierre Hutsebaut has been extended until February 7th. As it is not possible to ascertain when Mr. Hutsebaut's status might change, the CCA has proceeded to advertise for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to assume direction of the national office. It is anticipated that the COO will be named before the end of December."
