Christy Clark, MLA for Port Moody-Westwood announced on February 2nd that she will be putting forward a private members motion that would give tax credits to BC families for the cost of enrolling their children in sport, recreation and art programs. She sees this tax relief as just one of the things that governments can do to promote sport and physical activity and her announcement she hopes will start a public movement to support such tax incentives.

She has posted a petition on her website at www.christyclark.net calledSportBreakBC. This website also has more information on the announcement. Please circulate this news to your partners and stakeholders in sport and recreation.

Please take the 2 minutes to visit the website and, if you support this motion, sign the petition NOW as she will require this support to attempt to make this a reality.

Ride With Rendall Report

Ridewithrendall.com in association with the Peak Centre Human Performance presented the 10th stage of the RWR Winter Racing series this past weekend in Ottawa. 27 riders raced in various heats on Multi linked computrainers on a roller coaster course characterized by sharp uphills and steep downhills. The fastest time of the day (38:12.4) was posted by Espoirs Laval rider rider William Goodfellow from Montreal after hard fought battle with Fraser Atkins from Fresh Air Experience. Both riders pushed each other to the end resulting in the fastest heat of the day. In the woman's field , Natasha Ellliot from Cycle Logik Racing ground her way over the climbs and posted some impressive wattage numbers on her way to winning the women's category with a time of 41:13.4. For more results and stats visit www.ridewithrendall.com

The next race will be held on February 20th with heats once again starting at 7am and running throughout the day. Sunday's course will return to the Series Time trial course for the third time giving riders a window on their fitness and training program. The Series time trial course is repeated once a month throughout the series to help riders gauge there improvements and progressing fitness levels.

For information and to book you start time call the Peak Centre at 613-737-PEAK. New riders ride for free and are encouraged to put their worries aside and to come out to enjoy a positive and challenging training environment.

See you there, glen
