Smith Wins Bronze Medal at Pan Ams

The Canadian Cycling Association is proud to announce another medal for the Canadian team at the Pan American road and track championships in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Travis Smith of Calgary won the bronze medal in the men's kilometre time trial with a time of 1:06.983. Smith's time was just 261 thousandths of a second slower than the winner, Wilson Meneses of Colombia, and a mere 134 thousandths down on the silver medallist, Sergio Guatto of Argentina.

240 cyclists from 21 nations are competing in the championships, which continue until Sunday, May 1.

Une Autre Médaille Canadienne aux Pan Ams
l'ACC

L'Association cycliste canadienne est fière d'annoncer une autre médaille pour l'équipe canadienne aux championnats panaméricains à Mar del Plata en Argentine. Travis Smith de Calgary a remporté la médaille de bronze dans l'épreuve du kilomètre masculin avec un temps de 1:06.983. Le temps effectué par Smith n'était que 261 millièmes plus lent que le vainqueur, Wilson Meneses de Colombie, et juste 134 millièmes inférieur au temps du médaillé d'argent, Sergio Guatto d'Argentine.

240 cyclistes provenant de 21 nations sont présents aux championnats, qui s'achèveront dimanche le 1er mai.

Cat 4 Women / Cat 5-4 Men Start 6:15 PM
Cat 3 & 2-3 women Start 6:45 PM
Cat 1-2 Men Cat 1 women Start 7:30 PM

Points will be awarded 5 deep, top 5 in each category will receive prizing for series. Last year $1000.00 was distributed for prizing.

First race sign on is $20.00 includes your number for the series. Every other race is $7.00


Forest City Velodrome - London, Ontario

I just wanted to let you know that we have opened up the track to all riders this weekend. The Camp will start on Friday night at 7pm, open track from 5pm. On Saturday 9am, there will be a Learn to Ride program for new riders to the track. 10am the drills will start and continue until about 3pm. Riders can go for dinner to prepare for the evening racing after 3pm.

The Grand Opening Ceremony at the Velodrome will be begin at 7pm, doors open at 5:30pm, rider warm-up at 6pm - 6:50pm.

General admission $10.00, Seniors $5.00, Children Free when accompanied by an adult.

Come early for the best seats, Bring a seat cushion just in case you arrive late.
