Mountain Bike Nationals Update

We have spoken with both the Nationals organizer and the CCA, and here is the current situation:

  • The forest fire in Salmon Arm is NOT a problem at the race site. According to organizer Tim Milne, that is over an hour away and at much lower elevation. He also said that the driving route from Vancouver and the lower mainland is clear, but that people driving from Calgary may have to make a detour.
  • At this time, the CCA has determined that there will NOT be a „make up‰ race for the Downhill Canada Cup to take the place of the boycotted event at Rocky Mountain House (CC#5). This means that riders who raced at Rocky Mountain House will get points, and that the only race left in the Canada Cup series is the Nationals. Overall standings will still be based on best four results, plus Nationals.
