New “Shore 2 Tha Core” Marathon Is Saturday North Vancouver, BC

The 2005 North Shore Credit Union World Mountain Bike Festival & Conference kicks off this weekend with the inaugural “Shore 2 tha Core” SISU BC Cup Marathon.

This exciting mountain bike race will feature a number of National Champions riding in a variety of age categories, including top pros like Haro’s Seamus McGrath and 2004 Canadian National Pro Elite Mountain Bike Champion, Ricky Federeau.

WHAT: North Shore Credit Union “Shore 2 tha Core” Marathon

WHEN: Saturday, May 21st

· 9:00am - Race begins

· 12:00-1:00pm - First riders begin returning

· 3:00pm - Race ends, followed by award presentations

WHERE: Capilano College (Start/Finish)

The race is a grueling single 45 km loop that involves a combination of climbing and descending, which will take just over three hours for the fastest riders to finish (4-5 hours for the majority of competitors).

Also, returning for a 4th year on Monday, May 23rd is the North Shore Credit Union Enduro and Corporate Sustainability Challenge, presented by Keystone Environmental Ltd. Competitors race for 6 hours (10-4pm) on a 4km loop around Camp Brick at the top of Lillooet Road in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve, formerly known as the Seymour Demonstration Forest.

Early Registration and Package Pick-up for the NSCU “Shore 2 tha Core” Marathon event

Hello all! Only ONE more day till the 2nd event of the SISU BC Cup Marathon Series and a brand new event to test your legs and your lungs!

As we were asked to start the event earlier than we would have liked, we have arranged for an early check-in and race package pick-ups to make it a little easier for you on Saturday morning. Please take advantage of these if at all possible and save us both the line-ups waits and aggravation!

Friday May 20th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Capilano College in the Lower Cafeteria Area.

If you were unable to attend on Thursday night at Taylor's Crossing, come and visit us on Friday Night and pick up your race package. We will be setting up in the lower seating area of the main cafeteria at Capilano College. (view registration area map). There is a covered entrance where you enter from the south side of the building.

Do us a favour and make things easier on yourself as well and take advantage of these 2 great opportunities to handle these race logistics! We have had to start quite early on Saturday morning and one thing is for sure, you do not want to be standing in line-up on Saturday morning when you should be prepping for the race!
