Just a bit of history on this project:

Torontonian Mike Heaton has worked for 8 years to get a BMX race track in Toronto. In March of 2005 the OCA came on board to assist and the track was approved in June 2005 to be be built at Marilyn Bell Park (Jamieson and Lakeshore, just west of the Ex). The track will be built to National standards in the hopes on hosting the National Championships or a UCI International Event in the coming years.

City Councillor Sylvia Watson is hoping to break ground for the new track in May 2006, but as per city rules, we are hosting a second community meeting allowing for citizens in the area to ask questions. The first meeting held last year showed overwhelming support for the building of the facility.

If there are any questions, please email bmx@ontariocycling.org and we hope to see a lot of cyclists at the meeting.
