Giant Bicycle Canada has supplied a 2006 Omnium Track Frameset for the Saturday Junior Night of racing. The prize will be awarded to the top Junior racer of the night. As event organizer I was very pleased when Giant Canada agreed to get involved with our event, we both agreed that the Omnium frame should go to an up and coming young rider.

Said Wayne Bleakley of Giant "Hopefully it is awarded to a rider who is looking to upgrade his or her bike, or better yet to a new racer using a rental bike and help spark a new passion for Track cycling. Giant is very pleased to be associated with the Burnaby Velodrome for this event and we look forward to supporting more events in the future".

Re-Ups with Whistler Mtn Returns at Offical Component Supplier of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park

Race Face Components Inc., one of North America's leading producers of high performance mountain bike components and clothing, is proud to announce it is returning, once again as the official component supplier to the Whistler Mountain Bike Park.

In a contract penned earlier this week and continuing through the 2007 season, Race Face will provide all Whistler guide and rental bikes with a tricked out kit of DH specific componentry, including Race Face's brand new Diabolus chainguide.

"We've enjoyed a very successful, long standing association with the Whistler Bike Park" says Race Face's Marshall Rutman. "As the premiere lift accessed riding destination, Whistler continues to push the progression of the sport and that is definitely something we here at Race Face want to support. Part of that progression involves building trails that wreak havoc on their rental fleet so for us to be able to provide the Park with components that will withstand this type of abuse makes us very proud. "

"As the Official Supplier of components to the Whistler Mountain Bike Park for the past several years, we have put Race Face's best to the ultimate test." says Rob McSkimming - VP of Business Development at Whistler. "On average, our rental bikes clock more than 1,000,000' vertical each summer. All of our Race Face parts, from headsets to bottom brackets and everything in between have been able to take all the Park can dish out and more. That is why we've chosen to run Race Face components on our fleet of 190 bikes for the next two years. We are absolutely thrilled."

In a separate agreement, Race Face's subsidiary company - Roach Clothing and Protective Wear has also signed on, once again as the park's official armor supplier.

"With the inherent dangers of this style of riding, safety is obviously a huge concern." continues Rutman. "Our award winning, Roach armor will make sure all Whistler guides and patrol can do their job while enjoying the industry's best protection.".

Visitors to the park will also have an opportunity to test the best in Race Face components and armor at the Whistler Rental shop at the base of the mountain.
