Working in partnership with WADA, the Coaches Association of Ontario and the National Coaching Institute are pleased to announce an upcoming Doping Prevention Workshop in Toronto. This cutting edge session is being facilitated by Marie-Claude Asselin, Coordinator, Education, World Anti-Doping Agency and is geared towards high performance coaches at the Provincial, National or International level.

The fight against doping has changed dramatically in past few years with the creation of the World Anti-Doping Agency and the introduction of new anti-doping regulations.

Through the analysis of a multiple-case scenario, coaches will:

• Learn about the rules and regulations and their implications on the roles and responsibilities of coaches and athletes;

• Find out how to react appropriately to events that may realistically occur in their coaching context; and
• Reflect on their personal coaching strategies and how they may affect athletes' attitudes and behaviours about doping.

This workshop is presented as a pilot and is intended to be made available to all coaches in the world within 5 to 6 months. As such, attendance is required for the entire duration. At the end of the formal program, coaches will be asked to provide feedback to the organizers on whether the content is useful, appropriate or applicable to the elite level coaching context and on how various aspects of the delivery method can be improved.

Due to the nature of the session a limited number of places are available!
Date: December 14
Time: 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Sport Alliance Building - Room 3B
To register please contact events@coachesontario.ca, there is NO charge to attend.
