Following a successful 2005 season, the Seattle-based Broadmark Capital/Hammer Nutrition Cycling Team has again proven to be the United State's premier amateur development team. The 2005 season saw many highlights: Carl Decker's Elite Road Race Championship, Andrew Fischer's 3rd place finish in the same event, Justin Morgan's 5th place at the U23 National Time Trial Championship, Canadian rider Dustin MacBurnie's overall win at the Tour De White Rock, and Tom Peterson's strong climbing performances at the Mt Hood Classic, Green Mountain Stage Race and Cascade Cycling Classic. The 2005 campaign has been capped by the "graduation" of Dustin MacBurnie and Tom Peterson to professional teams for the 2006 season.

As an amateur development program, the Broadmark Capital/Hammer Nutrition Team's success revolves around rider development. Graduating riders to professional teams is the fulfillment of the fundamental goal of the team. Over the past six years, the team has been exceedingly successful in this endeavor, with riders such as Tyler Farrar (Cofidis), Doug Ollerenshaw (Health Net), Svein Tuft (Symmetrics), Cam Evans (Symmetrics), Evan Elken and Craig Wilcox (Jittery Joes), and others coming through the Broadmark Capital/Hammer Nutrition program. Tom Peterson will be collecting his pro paycheck from TIAA-CREF in 2006 while Dustin MacBurnie will be cashing his from Target Training/Endeavor. The move up by Peterson and MacBurnie bring the total to fourteen riders to sign professional contracts from Broadmark Capital/Hammer Nutrition in the past six years.

The 2006 Roster looks to be equally impressive. Returning to the team are Carl Decker, Elite National Champion and mountain biker extraordinaire, Andrew Fischer, 3rd place finisher at Elite Nationals, Adam Curry, New Zealand super-talent, fast finisher Owen Gue, and time trial specialist Justin Morgan. New to the Elite Team will be Chad Nikolz. Chad joins the team from local Seattle squad, The Benoroya Research Institute. Chad is another fast finisher and solid worker who plans to better his podium finishes from the 2005 BC Superweek and Mt Hood Classic. Also racing select races with the Elite Team will be Washington State Criterium Champion, Anton Jackson, climbing specialist Solomon Woras, and Collegiate National Champion Nick Clayville.

The team will again be supported by Broadmark Capital Corporation, a national investment bank. Building on their partnership of 2005, Hammer Nutrition has increased its support and will be the co-title sponsor for the team. Also new will be the addition of Ridley Bicycles as the official team bike supplier. The Broadmark/Hammer Nutrition Cycling Team is looking for continued success in 2006 and this would not be possible without support from all the teams sponsors: Broadmark Capital, Hammer Nutrition, Ridley Bikes, IRC Tires, Performance Bike, Private Lenders Group, Squadra Clothing, Smith Glasses, Giro Helmets, Easton Components and Wheels, TIME Pedals and Shoes, CapoForma socks and accessories, Velo saddles, Zoka's Coffee, Thule, SKS, Real Rehab, Cateye Computers, Physical Therapy, Chef Å’n, Skyhawks, Dumonde Tech.
