Ride with Rendall/Peak Series Stage 4

The Tour of Langkawi has the Genting highlands, The Tour de France has the legendary Alp d'Huez and now the RWR/ Peak Winter Series has Mt. Durand. Mt.Durand is a climb that in keeping with tradition, challenges riders to stay focused and to keep their momentum all the way to the top. Stage 4 had riders waiting nervously as they looked over the profile prior to the race and wondered what was to come.

With Montreal riders such as Robert Duguay and Ceslaw Lukaszewicz joining the series, riders from Ottawa and Vancouver were keen to establish themselves as GC contenders. 57 riders throughout Canada set off to establish their times up to the virtual hill climb with OBC rider Aaron Fillion's 41:45.4 coming out on top. Second and third place went to Ride with Rendall Team riders Glen Rendall (43:10.6) and Derrick St.John (43:39.9) and kept the podium filled with Ottawa riders.

Joining the series this year for the first time this year, Natasha Elliott (Biovale) came out of hiding to stomp on the women's field and a good portion of the men's. She distanced herself from the other riders with a time of 45:21.2. Cynthia Clark took second while Montreal's Antonietta Lambo broke the Ottawa stronghold on the podium to finish third

The next race of the RWR series will take place this upcoming weekend in Ottawa and Montreal. Vancouver Stage 5 heats will be on Tuesday January 17th. To book your start time or for more information on Multirider Indoor racing call the Peak Centre at 613-737-PEAK (Ottawa), 514-341-Peak (Montreal) or 604-299-7959 in Vancouver

The RWR Winter Race Series is a 16 stage race series designed for fun and fitness. Rider are not required to ride all stage to be eligible for a GC placing. For more information on stage dates, results and heat times call The Peak Centre or visit www.ridewithrendall.com.
