The Tour de l'Aude starts tomorrow for its 25th edition, and Canada, as always, has a strong contingent of riders taking part. The ten stage race consists of an individual time trial Prologue and nine stages, including a team time trial of 27 kilometres in Stage 2.
There are eight Canadians in the race on Team Canada and ESGL 93 - GSD Gestion. Team Canada is led by Erinne Willock and Julie Beveridge, who are joined by Carrie Cartmill, Heather Logan, Sarah Stewart and Jenny Trew. Audrey Lemieux and Joelle Numainville are on the ESGL 93 - GSD Gestion squad.
Among the favourites are Team Flexpoint, with Susanne Ljungskog and Miriam Melchers-Van Poppel, DSB Bank-LTO (Marianne Vos), Columbia-Highroad (Ina Yoko Teutenberg), Nürnberger (Amber Neben), Cervelo (Kristin Armstrong and Emma Pooley) and Vision 1 Racing (Nicole Cooke).
