Canadian Olympic legend Clara Hughes will be honoured Saturday as the Richmond O Zone presents Clara Hughes Day in partnership with COLD-FX.
Hughes will make a special appearance on the O Zone Main Stage at 3 p.m., where she will be saluted for her remarkable Olympic achievements, including being the only athlete to achieve multiple medals at both the Olympic Summer (2 bronze in cycling in 1996) and Winter Games (1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze in 2002, 2006 and 2010). The public will have a chance to meet her after the ceremony for autographs and photos.

When: Saturday, February 27th at 3 p.m.
Members of Canada’s Olympic long track and short track speed skating teams will also make a special appearance in the O Zone on Saturday. A special Salute to Champions will take place at 5:30 p.m. on the O Zone Main Stage, followed by an autograph and photo opportunity in the Richmond Olympic Oval Pavilion until 6:30 p.m.
Hughes has also announced that she will donate the $10,000 bonus she received for her bronze medal at these Olympics to the 'Take a Hike Foundation', which teaches at-risk kids through adventure-based learning. "I didn't just come [to the Vancouver Olympics] to skate in circles."
