February 15/11 12:50 pm - 2011 Tour of Bronte Registration Opens

The 2011 Tour of Bronte is pleased to open the Ontario road racing season on Sunday, April 10th. Taking place in Bronte Creek Provincial Park in Oakville, the road race circuit is a mix of smooth and not so smooth paved and unpaved winding, narrow roads. It evokes the feel of the historic classic races in northern Europe and modern retro classics like the Monte Paschi Eroica in Tuscany. The 2010 edition received enthusiastic reviews from participants and is sure to grow in 2011.

Field limits for all categories are in place to ensure a safe enjoyable race experience for everyone. Enter now to avoid disappointment and take advantage of the early registration discount. Over $5000 cash, a closed road circuit with no centre line rule ever and a host of family friendly activities combine to make this one of the most interesting races of 2011.

While roadies get their season started, MTB enthusiasts are also catered to in the Dirt Dash. This will be run on a modified version of the 2010 course, utilizing a 5 kilometre unpaved circuit consisting of unpaved road, new double track sections and a leg-searing climb each lap. The final course will be weather dependent, and will once again be a great training opportunity for the following week's Paris to Ancaster classic.

On Saturday, April 9th, organizers have added two new clinics to get the season started for road and MTB neophytes. Full race details and complete descriptions for the "Group Riding 101" or "Sprockids, Learn to Mountainbike" clinics are available at www.tourofbronte.com.

Additional entry discounts are available at our retail bike store partners. Enter in person at Main Cycle (Hamilton), Ancaster Cycle (Ancaster), Brant Cycle (Burlington) or Gears bike shop (Mississauga) to save an additional $5.
