On September 25th, in Summerland, BC, the Test of Humanity Mountain Bike Endurance Race will take place. This annual mountain biking event has been designed for riders with beginner to expert abilities, and will be a fun day for the whole family, with individual categories and courses for all ages and abilities. The intention of the race is to raise money for Canadian Humanitarian and provide assistance to the local South Okanagan Food Bank. All financial proceeds from the race will be used to support Canadian Humanitarian and its projects in Ethiopia.
Canadian Humanitarian is a non-religious, non-profit organization that provides orphaned and vulnerable children in Ethiopia with access to health care, education, vocational training and the basic necessities of life such as nutrition and shelter.
The South Okanagan Food Bank is a local organization that provides monthly food hampers to those people requiring assistance. At present there are 9000 people in the South Okanagan that require support from the local food bank.
If racing is not your thing but you feel that this type of event is something you would like to be involved in, then please feel free to contact us by emailing testofhumanity@gmail.com and we would be happy to have you join our team of volunteers.
The Test of Humanity's mission is:
• To help break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia by providing orphaned and vulnerable children with access to an education
• To provide food assistance to those locally that cannot provide for themselves
• To provide an exciting day of mountain bike racing for all ages and abilities
By racing in the Test of Humanity you will be playing a vital role in improving the lives of children in Ethiopia and in providing food assistance to those in need in our local community. So please join us along with race announcer Steve King (the legendary voice of IronMan Canada) on September 25th, for a great day of racing, and know that you will actually be racing .....to build lives.
