Overview of the CCA
The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) is the recognized authority by the UCI (Union Cycliste International) on all aspects of cycling in Canada, including BMX, Cyclocross, Mountain Bike, Para-Cycling, Road and Track. Founded in 1882, the CCA aims to create and sustain an effective system that develops talented Canadian cyclists to achieve Olympic, Paralympic and World Championship medal performances. With the vision to be a leading competitive cycling nation by 2020 celebrating enhanced international success, increased national participation and world class event hosting, the CCA manages the National teams, hosts national and international events, and administers community programs to promote Cycling in Canada.
Job Description
The High Performance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of the national team programs. The High Performance Coordinator will collaborate with the cycling specific Program Coordinators, the High Performance Director and the Development Director to help ensure the performance targets of our cycling sports are met for Canada. The High Performance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the high performance objectives of the Strategic Plan and as further defined by the High Performance Director. The HP Coordinator will also assist the processes related to financial reporting for the high performance programs and assist the implementation of domestic development programs and activities.
This position is based at the national office in Ottawa, Ontario. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
High Performance
- Coordinate and communicate the information requests for multisport data from multi sport franchise holders to athletes, coaches and support personnel for Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American, Commonwealth and Youth Games. - Liaise with National Team members on matters related to the Athlete Assistance Program including coordinating the carding program application process in all of its aspects.
Finance & Operations
- Assist the Program Coordinators with the development and monitoring of the budget for the respective cycling sports within the National Team program. - Under the supervision of the Director Finance & Administration make data entries into the accounting program for the accounts payable being processed within the High Performance Program. ? Liaison Duties: - Support HPD, Director Development and Development Coach in the effective alignment of National cycling centers with NSO and PSO programming.
Knowledge and Skills
The CCA is looking for candidates that have general knowledge of the Canadian sport system and a proven ability to assist the delivery of high performance or development programs at the national or provincial levels. Due to the collaborative nature of the position, candidates with strong communication and relationship building skills will be sought. The High Performance Coordinator needs to have superior multi-tasking and organizational skills and an understanding of the planning process.
A post secondary education with a degree in sport administration or business administration would be an asset.
The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in data entry, excel based programming, accounting and sport administration. Project management, financial management, event management, experience working with volunteers and fluency in both official languages are considered key assets. .
Candidates will be expected to have proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint) in addition to capacity in social media
Salary & Benefits
The salary scale for the position is a range of $ 42,000 to $ 45,000 dependent on experience. In addition the successful candidate will be eligible for benefits after a period of probation.
This position is subject to a six-month probation for a new staff hiring at the end of which a documented performance review will be completed.
