The Ontario Cycling Association is coordinating a road commissaire course that is open to anyone 18+. This course is a requirement for all new road commissaires, managers and organizers, and it covers a broad range of rules and topics that govern the sport of cycling.
The fee is $100 for managers and $75 for commissaires. Commissaire attendees are entitled to a $50 rebate if they volunteer as a technical assistant at an OCA road event. Please note that to be eligible for regular race assignments as commissaires, attendees must purchase a commissaire licence upon successful completion of the course. The commissaire designation can be added to an existing UCI licence at no extra charge. The course is limited to 12 participants.
Date: Saturday-Sunday, 9-5 pm, March 26-27
Location: 3 Concorde Gate, Toronto, ON
Cost: OCA Fee of $75 - $100
Registration: through the OCA online system at www.ontariocycling.org.
For more information: events@ontariocycling.org or Greg Rawson at (416) 426-7241
Course participants are asked to review parts 1 and 2 of the UCI Regulations ("General Organization of Cycling as a Sport", and "Road Races", respectively) in advance. These may be downloaded in PDF format from the rules section of the UCI web site - www.uci.ch.
